Tresillian House
This substantial two-story Regency period country house, originally built around 1801, was rebuilt in 1848, and many of the original features remain. The gritstone and granite house stands in its private gardens of approximately 22 acres, with lawns, orchards, ornamental lake with a fountain, and a productive walled vegetable garden.
The house has been extensively and sympathetically restored, and now sleeps 16, with further accommodation available in the converted Apple Store (6 double bedrooms) and Laundry Cottage (1 double bedroom).
The Ground Floor
The ground floor of the house has a large, light family kitchen/breakfast room with seating for 10. With a beautiful slate stone floor, the traditional looking kitchen has all the modern facilities you would expect, including an integrated dish washer, integrated fridge, large island and a dual fuel range cooker. The Kitchen has recently been refurbished and all facilities there are new. Off the kitchen is a larder with an enormous walk-in fridge, a freezer and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
There are two downstairs cloak rooms.
The ground floor also features a full height stair hall with a fine oak staircase and balustrade balcony beneath an octagonal roof light.
There is a formal drawing room with Carrara marble fireplace and wonderful garden and lake views and access to the terrace with a table with seating for 12. There are BBQ facilities on the terrace too. The dining room, seating a maximum of 20 people, has an extendable table.
There is a library with flat screen TV and DVD plus a range of family board games and cards.
The ground floor is for the most part sanded wood or stone floors, with rugs scattered throughout. Furnishings have all been renewed to a high standard, and the furniture is for the most part antique.
